Using a Springform Pan
Apply a thin layer of butter or margarine to the pan before adding batter.
When the cake or dessert has cooled, unhinge the buckle and remove the rim carefully. Slide the dessert to the serving plate.
When using for a
layer cake let the cake cool completely before cutting with a
cake divider / cutter.
How do Springform Pans work?
Springform pans typically contain two parts: the round edge with buckle and a bottom. After baking and cooling, unhinge the buckle on the rim to release a perfect dessert. Carefully slide the rim over the dessert and use the bottom as a serving tray or relocate.
What should I consider when buying a springform pan?
Nonstick Coating: Nonstick coating allows you to remove the rim of the pan and slide your dessert to a proper serving tray.
Leakproof Bottom Tray: Without a
leakproof base, you must fill the edge of the pan with shortening, which can deform the shape of your cake, or cheesecake.
Cut Resistant: Using the bottom of the springform pan is a perfect perk of these types of pans. Find a great long-lasting pan that has a cut-resistant base. See my bestselling
cut resistant Kaiser Springform Pan
Versatility: Some pans double as a bundt cake pan and a normal springform pan. These excite me- you get two pans in one and you can create truly unique desserts.
Entertaining: Finding a great
mini springform pan is perfect for making holiday treats and entertaining. Sometimes I get in the mood for a cheesecake and a 4 inch mini-dessert is all I need.
